Spineless Wonders Competition

The Boys love having such devoted fans and Ms Katykins has decided it’s time for them to go public.

She’s been trying to create a likeness of Cyril and Willy out of Fimo. You know, that cool weird stuff that you shape like plasticine and then oven bake. Do you fancy winning a couple of (rather basic) models of The Boys? They certainly hope so. Here’s how you can do it!

When Ms Katykins began the comic strip, she thought up a few catchphrases which might recur, hopefully for familiarity and comedic effect. ‘What do you think of the new guys?’ was one of those ideas that’s been used a few times and will be used more often. Remember these ones?

Garden Gnome

So here’s the challenge. Can you come up with a new catchphrase which could be used as a recurring joke but which would lead to different scenarios? Or what new series of adventures/new hobbies would you like The Boys to undertake? A Fimo duo will be awarded to the two best suggestions. You have one week to come up with your best ideas and then submit them to the Comments box below. Finalists will be announced next Sunday, 30th October 2012

Here’s a pre-baked sneak preview. (Please don’t decide not to enter based on my poor artistic abilities!) This competition is for fun! πŸ™‚

Happy Sunday!

okay based on my four year olds comments it would have to be cyril telling willy to ‘get a wiggle on’ (he also keeps asking for ladybirds and slugs – don’t ask me why he likes slugs)

That’s funny, my Mum’s made that suggestion in the past as well – great minds, eh? πŸ™‚ Okay, I will gladly put more ladybirds in. πŸ™‚ Tell him thank you and to keep his ideas coming! πŸ™‚

The Boys travel to each state in America featuring what the state is famous for, with fillers of different ways of travel?

Oh gosh, let me think on this…

Maybe a bit on the obvious side, but I think it would be funny to put them in precarious situations and telling the other to “grow a backbone”

Maybe they could have clever spelling “faux pas” which could showcase the unbelievable difficulty writers like me have with the English Language. Like taking about the whether the weather is going to be fine. Perhaps one critter could be an expert and the other could struggle with both winning at the end.
I personally would relate to the one that struggles. LOL.
This way spelling could be both promoted and acknowledged as how difficult it can be and be really funny and clever? I took this from the post you talked about spelling. This way it could be a running gag.
and your Mum would like it. : ) I hope I win.

Lol, this made me smile – particularly the last part. My Mum really would appreciate this suggestion! πŸ˜€ Thank you very much for this great suggestion. Definitely important to think about how language works and English can be remarkable tricky at times! πŸ™‚

I got this idea from Maggie! They can start scrapbooking. And when they do something they want to remember (as they travel to all 50 states per John the Aussie), they can look at each other and say, “scrap it!” Of course scrap it can be sarcastic, too.

Hey, that’s a really cool idea! I like that… Hmm… I may have to put this to the public vote… Really like the duality of that suggestion. Nice one. Thanks, Maddie! πŸ™‚
