10,000 steps a day is supposedly the recommended number of steps that we should aim to walk each day. Many people will manage far more, whereas some of us will find it a struggle to heave our lazy backsides up off the couch…

Do you like to walk? What’s your favourite way to stay in shape/get in shape/destress?

So . . . how does a one footed fellow take even one step?

They have to translate it to wiggles, otherwise they’ll fall over.

Absolutely! They’re going to find muscles they didn’t know they had!

They could hop… Just saying…

Great idea – maybe they could progress to using ropes. But they’d need another (limbed!) insect or two to help out.

Oh gosh, I couldn’t possibly count to 10K. I was told to walk at least 15-20 minutes a day and our neighborhood has up and down streets for huffing and puffing. I carry hand weights and strap on ankle weights.

I like the idea of using the weights – do you feel they are beneficial or do you dislike using them? Maybe you could get a pedometre. You just strap it on to your belt or your shoe and it counts the steps for you.

I walk nearly every day, and sometimes twice, for half an hour. That’s in addition to the other exercises on the menu.

Wow, you sound super fit!
Walking can be really good. Definitely a mood buster! Angry walks are very helpful, as are relaxing ones.

I’m not even sure how they tell which way they are going’. I get up and walk to the refrigerator several times a day.

Hee hee! I like to count the drinking of beer etc as good arm exercises too. It all adds up to a nice workout.

HA HA!
The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single wiggle! Good for them for being so health conscious!

Absolutely! Did you see him hula hoop a few weeks before?
