You didn’t really think that The Boys would miss a night like this with you, did you?
The whole Trick or Treating thing isn’t such a big deal in Scotland as it is in places such as North America. We hope you’re watching some scary films wherever you are!
Hello everyone! Apologies for the hiatus last week, I desperately needed some head space. Plus Cyril and Willy were getting impatient with all my intrusions into their daily lives!
Now I am back with a bit of a quandary. As many of you will know, I am soon getting married. The wedding invites are in the planning stage and a few people have suggested that a Spineless Wonders themed invite could be rather good. My mum is also keen to feature in the skit. Rather than have a big face in the background which is a terrible likeness of her, we’re considering creating a critter for her. I have come up with a few ideas so far, one of which she seems to particularly like. I’d like to ask you to vote for your favourite. These are just basic sketches and can be developed. If you don’t think any of them seem quite right, please do make a further suggestion, we’d love you to share your thoughts and inspiration!
The daily updates last week were a bit sporadic. I’ve decided to do the sensible thing right now and take a little break from my blogs. Life is just getting on top of me. I think it’s only fair for me to go and confer with The Boys so that they can tell me what they’ve been up to and I can translate that into some toons.
As you all know, the winner of The Spineless Wonders competition was John the Aussie who proposed that The Boys should make a huge road trip around the USA. I am going to set up a page on here with the different states. I’d love if you guys would make suggestions for where you want them to visit and what you’d like them to do! I think really they should see a few things in each state…
Yes, I’m pretty sure I would have mentioned them. Well, this morning I received a really lovely surprise letter in the post. The twins quite often draw me pictures and, I’m not sure if they know this, but I still have about 97% of the ones they’ve ever sent me!
Today, I discovered that either they’re Spineless Wonders fans or sympathisers – lol!

Aren’t these fantastic! I would like to welcome doodles from any of the other fans out there who would like to try their hand at their own skit. Doesn’t need to be funny or well drawn. Hell, most of mine aren’t! If there are entries, I could create a little gallery page to showcase your work! Interested? Post your doodled critters to me at k.alexander.kirk@gmail.com
I welcome the weird, the wonderful and the special!
A day late – once again – is making Ms Katykins wonder if she should take a very brief hiatus so as to get back on track with The Spineless Wonders.
Congratulations go out to the wee Monster, our honorary winner of a set of Spineless Wonders. The original drawing featured today will be winging its way to him this afternoon.
Like I said, The Boys did need to spend a fair bit of time posing for me so I could make their likeness in FIMO. But who knew Willy would be such a drama queen about it?
Congratulations once more to John the Aussie. The original picture of today’s cartoon will be winging its way to you tomorrow. Enjoy!
I was really worried about Cyril and Willy yesterday. It turns out that they overdid it at the Vodka Bar on Friday night. Yesterday was just a blur to them. Cyril curled up in his shell and Willy, well, he fell asleep on the bar and lost three days of his life…
Rest assured, I’ve had a firm talk with The Boys. They now know that just because they’re party animals at the weekend, it doesn’t mean they can shirk responsibilities to their fans. They apologise for being bad and promise that they will be back to work later on today. In fact, I have been very busy creating models on The Boys for our two prize winners. That’s taken it out of them a little. They’re not used to posing for so long…
Well, as Chris Evans would say, “It’s F-F-F-F-Friday!” I guess we knew that the boys would struggle to maintain their healthy routine at the weekend…Many thanks to Ms Katykins’ Mummy who provided the inspiration for today’s post!
Have a great Friday! And if you haven’t already tasted flavoured vodka, some of it is pretty tasty… Unfortunately, it doesn’t count towards your five a day!
10,000 steps a day is supposedly the recommended number of steps that we should aim to walk each day. Many people will manage far more, whereas some of us will find it a struggle to heave our lazy backsides up off the couch…
Do you like to walk? What’s your favourite way to stay in shape/get in shape/destress?
