I guess now would be a good time to tell you that Ms Katykins has just undertaken a charity challenge. It’s the first time she’s ever done anything like this and she’s hoping that she will do well! The Aspire Swim Challenge where participants have 12 weeks to swim 22 miles – the equivalent of the English Channel. Ms Katykins wanted to give herself an extra challenge, so she’s decided to do the return swim, 44 miles in total. Thankfully it’s only at the local pool and not the real Channel! Two days in and she’s already managed 2.2 miles.
Some support from the boys:
Er, please don’t feel the need to tell me that the arm etc is out of proportion…!
Ms Katykins shall be posting more details about the challenge over at Before I Forget but should you wish to follow her progress or contribute some pennies to her sponsorship (she’s still not quite met her target) then check her out at this link:
Thanks everyone!

I shall throw some coins your way on payday though obviously not at you while swimming because that would be cruel

Absolutely – they’d swim too but not having any limbs causes them some difficulties. Thanks Carla!

Good luck with the challenge! And don’t let Cyril and Willy get too close to the edge where they might fall in!

Way to go!!! My youngest sister swam the Channel in 1982, but a gale came up, pushed her off course, and she wound up swimming 36 miles instead of 22.

WOW! That is so fantastically impressive! Wow, how long did that take her? Did she go out with a team? I am too afraid of open water to do it for real!

I’m not entirely sure what this means, but I think I should be saying thank you!
(Sorry, having a ‘call me Stupid’ moment!)
